Primate Safaris Rwanda- Gorilla Trekking, Chimps Safaris: Rwanda Car Rental.

The Republic of Rwanda is a unitary republic of central and eastern Africa which is home to primates like the close neighboring states of  Uganda to the north; Tanzania to the east; Burundi to the south; and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west.

Although close to the equator, the country has a temperate climate due to its high elevation, with the highest point being Mount Karisimbi. The terrain consists of mountains and gently rolling hills, with plains and swamps in the east. Abundant wildlife, including rare mountain gorillas, have led to a fast-growing tourism sector.

The largest cities in Rwanda are Kigali, Rubavu, and Huye. Unlike many African countries, Rwanda is home to only one significant ethnic and linguistic group, the Banyarwanda. The country is well known for its native styles of dance, particularly the Intore dance, and for its drummers. Kinyarwanda, English, and French are the official languages.

Learn about the Primates in Rwanda

The Mountain Gorillas in Volcanoes: The obvious reason for selecting to go on primate safari in Rwanda is the watching of the mountain gorillas, some of the closest relatives to humans. Sitting within a small family group of gorillas is one of the world’s greatest wildlife experiences, and a gorilla safari is a ‘must’ for serious wildlife enthusiasts.

The mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) is one of the two most endangered apes in the world (with the Cross River Gorilla, Gorilla gorilla diehli). There are only approximately 850 mountain gorillas alive today, and all of them are found in the wild. They only exist in two small, protected Afromontane forest patches in northwest Rwanda, southwest Uganda and eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Rwanda car Rental does offer primate safaris to all the above-mentioned destinations while planning a visit to Africa on a self-drive or guided tour with an experienced tour guide. Besides the Rwanda gorilla trekking, a holiday in Rwanda could include the primates in the forests of Nyungwe; the country’s magnificent scenery; Akagera National Park’s more conventional African wildlife; and the beautiful shore of Lake Kivu.
